Things to do in Staffordshire

The Staffordshire Moorlands area, and the Churnet Valley in particular, where we’re located has so much to offer visitors of all ages and tastes. The main attraction is of course Alton Towers theme Park. But once visitors arrive at Crowtrees Farm they find themselves in an area of outstanding beauty – A perfect base for walking and cycling through the heavily wooded hills and valleys with pretty villages, friendly pubs and tearooms for refreshments.

Cycle hire and trails through the Manifold Valley and Tissington Trial are just a few minutes drive away. Part of our valley is also home to the Churnet Valley Steam Railway which winds its way from Cheddleton to Froghall. The Caldon Canal runs alongside the railway too, in addition to the River Churnet, offering a stunning location for a range of leisure activities.

Attractions in Staffordshire and Derbyshire are all within easy reach, with the Peak District National Park are just six miles away, providing limestone hills and caves for the outdoor enthusiast to explore and enjoy.
